I bought whole wheat flour from the market here in Bolivia a week ago. I try to buy enough that I only need to go into the city every 2’nd week, since we have our own little vegetable garden, it makes it even more possible.

I started to measure off the flour to bake some bread, when I saw this was a terrible batch of flour that I bought. It had husks and grain hairs of the wheat in it which will definitely hurt you when you’re eating it.

I was trying to measure it off slowly to take out all the impurities. At first this was discouraging, but suddenly a memory flashed into my head. When I was small, my mom taught me that when you move a bowl of wheat in a circular (shaking) movement, whatever is the lightest will go to the top, and the heavier parts will go to the bottom!

I immediately applied this after I sorted through it by hand.

This was amazing, even more big husks and grain hairs came to the top, and I could pick them out, with the help of the children.

God sent this my way, it was an object lesson. We are all going through the shaking time, through hard times, with challenges, (God is taking out the impurities of character)

If we can stand the tests with God’s strength, we will be ready for the latter rain.

If our faith is not strong through this hard time, and we don’t learn to depend on God for strength, we are like the husks and grain hairs that go to the top of the wheat, and then removed from the good wheat.

God is there to strengthen us in whatever circumstance we find ourselves in. Let’s ask God to help us to reflect more of His character.

Here it a Quote I thought I would share about the Shaking time!

By Ellen. G. White (Maranatha)

The days are fast approaching when there will be great perplexity and confusion. Satan, clothed in angel robes, will deceive, if possible, the very elect. There will be gods many and lords many. Every wind of doctrine will be blowing. . . . {Mar 200.3}

The mark of the beast will be urged upon us. Those who have step by step yielded to worldly demands and conformed to worldly customs will not find it a hard matter to yield to the powers that be, rather than subject themselves to derision, insult, threatened imprisonment, and death. The contest is between the commandments of God and the commandments of men. In this time the gold will be separated from the dross in the church. True godliness will be clearly distinguished from the appearance and tinsel of it. Many a star that we have admired for its brilliancy will then go out in darkness. Chaff like a cloud will be borne away on the wind, even from places where we see only floors of rich wheat. All who assume the ornaments of the sanctuary, but are not clothed with Christ’s righteousness, will appear in the shame of their own nakedness. {Mar 200.4}
