Kromeriz is a city in the Czech Republic, and it has a strong catholic influence. There are statues everywhere in the city to remind the people of their catholic background. There is a beautiful garden with wild animals. Tropical parrots and monkeys were there in the snow along with beautiful deer, rabbits, goats, doves and many more animals. All of these belong to the bishop. In this city there is a small vegetarian restaurant that belongs to a Seventh-day Adventist lady. She runs the restaurant with the help of her mother and another lady. Let me tell her story. Olga, for this is her name, has a mother who had a great desire to have a sanatorium (life style center) so she bought a big place and built a very large building. Then she ran out of money and the whole project ended up with a great debt. Her desire to build a sanatorium was carried on by her grandson so he built a nice house in a beautiful location on a

mountain, but one day this house burned down so he left on a mission trip to Africa where he is now directing a life style center in the Congo. Olga and her mother then decided to give health presentations in their local SDA Church. Olga’s health presentations were very successful. As they were praying and reading about how to do more for their fellow citizens, they decided to start a vegetarian restaurant. When I visited, there were only a few people there. Later I discovered that many people come to her restaurant and on each table they find a book to read and take home with them. Olga told me that no new customer leaves without a book. She charges SDA Church members only half price for their food, gives free food to the poor people, and she has prepared a room in the building for meetings. The room is used for health lectures, cooking classes and divine worship. She has activities online, and people have come to her meetings and lunches because of the web page advertising. Her restaurant is located close to downtown, and many people come even though another vegetarian restaurant is located just 50 meters away. We attended her church services and were amazed at her stories. She told of a business located upstairs above the restaurant where a lady had a TV show where she was presenting horoscopes. Olga and her friends prayed every day that the Lord would clear the place from the bad influence and evil angels. One day the lady visited Olga and said, “I know you serve the living God. Would you please introduce me to Him?” Olga did, and the lady said that she is going to close her business, but she is afraid that her family will reject her. Olga assured her that she has a new family now. The divine service was very different. After lunch we all met to share experiences in the Lord’s field. Members were so enthusiastic that it was hard for them to stop sharing. We had a nice time with them. Lunch, and later supper, was provided by Olga. As we visited, Olga told us that she has no house of her own but rents a small living space. All she keeps is enough money for her food and heat. Everything else goes to help other people. She was so happy that she was trying to convince me to do the same. God has given her a mission, and other people are blessed because of her willingness to serve. One lady arrived late for lunch, and as she came in the door, Olga asked her if she wanted something to eat. The lady answered, “No, I saw a Bible text in the window so I came into ask if you will tell me about God. Olga stopped her work and spent about 2 hours introducing the lady to the Lord. Through Olga’s small vegetarian restaurant, she is able to share her love for Jesus with others.
