Blessings, dear brethren in our Lord Jesus Christ!
My name is Sašo Stojanovski and I am 31 years old. I am a Seventh-day Adventist pastor from Macedonia (Southeast Europe), ministering in two local churches in Skopje (the capital of Macedonia). Before my conversion to Adventism I graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies in Skopje and I worked for three and a half years as a software developer in one of the biggest software companies in Macedonia – Seavus, on an outsourcing project for Ericsson. During this time I was converted to Adventism, attracted to Christ’s grace and amazed at the Present Truth. I was deeply impressed by the Adventist belief system and its ability to be applied to the real world. I was especially inspired by the prophecies in Daniel and Revelation, and the Sanctuary message as well. This is why I have used every moment to evangelize other people, introducing them to Adventist doctrines and helping them to build a personal relationship with Christ. For me the most important thing in life was to reach as many people as possible with the Everlasting Gospel. I was using my annual leave at a tourist destination in Macedonia, where I established a stand with Adventist publications, selling or giving these to passers-by and witnessing to them.
My passion for mission was continually growing so at one point I decided to put my engineering career on stand-by for a few months in order to dedicate myself 100% to the work in God’s field. During that time I was evangelizing people, giving Bible lessons, establishing and participating in small groups, organizing book fairs in Skopje and Bitola, trying every possible method for reaching people for the Truth. By engaging in all those mission-based activities I felt the reality of the Great Controversy in each sphere of life among the people. At the same time from the front line of the battle I realized the real necessity and urgency for the Advent message to be spread everywhere. I was stunned when I compared the speed of developing the devil’s works with the speed of spreading the Present Truth. I was pleading for God to give me vision and to show me methods for most effective ways of spreading the gospel. It was my main concern in life (and it still is today). God has showed me that it is necessary for supporting ministry to be established. Firstly, we need to focus on publishing a web site which will contain the largest possible amount of information related to the Truth. There are many Adventist websites in English, but a lot of Macedonians do not understand English. Another problem is that most of the Adventist websites are suitable for American and Western-European atheistic or Protestant culture, mindset and spirituality which are different from the Macedonian traditionally oriented Orthodox Christianity. Because of that, I started to work on a website, but after a short period of time I was faced with some theological difficulties and realized that I need more theological knowledge. God was leading me all the way and showed me that it was time for me to make a decision not to come back to my engineering career but to enroll at a theological faculty.
I started my studies at the Theological Seminary in Belgrade in 2012 and finished them in 2016 with top grades in most of my classes. Apart from my involvement in the theological studies my concern during the stay in Belgrade was also to encourage other students for missionary work by giving them practical examples, but also to establish friendships with other Adventists from the ex-Yugoslavian countries (Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia), Adventist who are really serious for mission. During the time of my studies I organized a small team and we started to work on preparing materials for the website. Up until now, we have collected more than 150 videos translated to Macedonian and more than 400 written articles. However, the website is still not online – it will be published in September this year because we would like it to be as complete as possible.
In September 2016 I got employed as a pastor for two local Adventist churches in Skopje. Up until now I have been involved in all the churches’ activities: preaching, giving Bible study lessons to candidates for baptism, organizing the church, initiating and organizing various mission activities, participating in an evangelistic series on TV, holding public evangelistic meetings, organizing Macedonian and Albanian stands for the book fair in Skopje, making friends with pastors, leaders and young people from other protestant denominations (in order to create opportunities to acquaint them with the authentic Adventist doctrines), making friends with influential young people from different organizations and associations and witnessing to them etc. However, aside from my complete dedication and great experiences I have had working for the official Church, I am disappointed at how slowly things are moving. If we continue this way we will need decades or centuries to reach the world with the Advent message. Even though I enjoy my pastoral job my biggest problem is that it is “locally” oriented – it only has impact on individuals. It is for that reason I was praying to God to show me the way how the process can be accelerated. I really believe that the date of Christ’s Second Coming is not a pre-determined date, but a dynamic date which depends greatly on finishing the work (enlightening the world with the unique Adventist message of righteousness by faith which will be manifested in the keeping of all of God’s commandments by God’s people who will have the faith of Jesus and will endure until the very end).
God has shown me that it would be a good idea to ask the leadership of the SDA Church (Macedonian Mission) to let me take an unpaid leave of absence for one year in order to establish a ministry for that year. So I asked the leadership, explained my ideas, visions and intentions and how serious I was with these ideas and they agreed to grant me an unpaid leave of absence from September 2017 until September 2018.
In addition to the project related with the website (as part of the supporting ministry) my team and I would like to establish a few other projects:
– a missionary school (where missionaries will be trained, equipped, motivated, encouraged and supported for mission)
– professional multimedia recording studio (materials from this studio will be used for web feeds which are to be played on local TV and radio stations, for making and spreading DVD copies etc.)
– health and lifestyle centre (where the health message will be combined with the authentic Adventist messages);
– projects related with different kinds of social work (where non-SDA volunteers will be encouraged and animated to be involved – so we will work both with volunteers and with people who will receive help and services – we already have great experiences with social work combined with mission);
– anything that God might show us as a possibility for more people to be reached.
It is important to point out that all these projects will not only be aimed at Macedonia but at all the countries in the Balkan region (since we have a lot in common: very similar languages, culture, traditions, common history and so on). Turkey also lies on our minds as a country to be reached with the Advent message because it has a crucial geopolitical influence on other countries from the Near East. We really want to provide great Adventist materials in as many different languages as we can so that the Three Angels’ Message may be spread as worldwide as possible. We want to train, equip, encourage, and support as many missionaries from different countries as possible, and to help people improve their health while also helping them to give their lives to Christ.
As is the case for any other project, this project (or projects) also demands a great deal of money. However, we do not want our main financial support to come from donations.We rather want to establish a business where 100% of the profits will be used for supporting the projects of the supporting ministry. In other words, we want this ministry to be really, really SELF-supporting / a SELF-SUSTAINABLE ministry. The main idea is to establish a software company, but we are also open for opportunities for other businesses.
Macedonia as a country is a great place for:
a) establishing ministry projects – because it is much cheaper compared to other European countries (facilities, food, transport and logistics, etc. that will be needed for the projects)
b) establishing a software company – because the salaries of IT workers in Macedonia are lower compared to western countries
With the combination of these two facts, and especially with God’s help (because ALL of this is ONLY for His glory, and for salvation of as many people as possible, and for hastening the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ), we believe that God can do marvelous things!
So the ways you can help are:
– if you have a software company and if you would like a part of your software to be coded, or testing procedures to be made here in Macedonia
– if your company, organization or church has a need for any kind of software, applications, etc.
– if your company, organization or church has a need for a website
– if you need any graphic design services or video editing or any other IT services
– if you can help us to establish any (not necessarily IT) business in Macedonia
– if you have any idea that can help us make money (that will be used 100% for the needs of the ministry)
-…
Please take into consideration that we will offer cheaper services than the services in your country. We will be completely loyal and fair – as working for the Lord. Especially take into consideration that the whole profit, 100% of it, will be used for MINISTRY NEEDS ONLY!!! (So that should be the biggest motivation for you to contact us for further communication.)
Please share this mail with other Adventist people that you think will be interested in this.
We believe that through these ministries God will make huge moves in the Great Controversy which will have eternal consequences. We are longing to see Jesus’ Second Coming as soon as possible!!!
