We are having a very blessed Sabbath as we reflect on how this trip has effected and changed each of our lives. All of us have been changed. We have seen firsthand the great need that is in our world to know Jesus. The places we have been and the people we have met are living in such fear and confusion. Satan is ruling hear in such a powerful way. The people in India and Thailand live with a belief that they have to do so many rituals to appease “the gods”. It is so very sad to see. Especially when we know that there is just one God and his heart is breaking with love for these confused people. But how do we tell them? We don’t speak their language.
One thing that has become a burden to me is that I see such a need for literature in these languages. Actually, one Bible Worker in Udemapet India (where we did a series) pleaded for literature or a DVD to share with people. These Bible workers are frontline missionaries with NO materials not even Bibles in some of their languages. And my home and church is full of literature and DVD’s. Yet I live in America where most everyone can seek and find Jesus with very little effort. The people here can seek but it is very hard to find unless someone is there to tell them.
Something else that amazes me about the Bible Workers and Pastors in India is that many are volunteers. They are fully committed yet they have no materials to work with and no or very little income. Please pray with me for these people and help find a way to get them the literature and Bible in their languages.
The Bible Worker, Solomon, that was at our sight, has taught himself English (how many of us have that commitment? No Rosetta Stone here!) And is attempting to write a pamphlet on Salvation in Tamil but he feels like it will cost $.25 each to print. Please pray for God to guide him and provide the money he needs. Solomon also has photography skills and may be an asset to making programs/ DVD’s in Tamil. He went to photography school after high school but could never find a paying job. God lead him into full time Bible work. Praise the Lord!!!
Maybe you can begin to see and know these people. Now we have names, places, and faces to attach to our prayers for the mission field. But we also have a great burden to help these people as we are so blessed in America. We have many more stories to share.
It is 2:30 in the morning here and I need to try to sleep. But I couldn’t stop thinking and praying about all that we have experienced. I will write more tomorrow.
Love and Miss you all! Happy Sabbath!!!
