The Lord works in wonderful ways. We’ve just finished conference season and are well into a hot and humid camp meeting season. Let me tell you a little of what’s been going on here. First, I visited Jeju Island for the OCI retreat and heard such speakers as Joanna Kim who is running the LIGHT program here in Korea. We also heard Charles Cleveland and Rodney Bowes speak. During that time, I was offered an affiliation and am considering connecting our organization with OCI, in the interest of gaining the support necessary to accomplish a more health centered program here in Korea and even abroad.
After that, it was up to Seoul for the JAERIM Conference meeting. We changed all four of our travel worn tires before heading out. Richard Sabuin preached on the theme Theatre of Grace. Videos were streamed to the internet on our Youtube channel found at https://www.youtube.com/c/KoreaMediaMissions. The next weekend, it was back up to Seoul again for more live streaming of the JAERIM sessions.
Fewer people attended than expected, but as always, the highlight was the outreach. The first weekend, we hit the streets, handing out water and water wipes on a hot day, along with books on God’s hope for a sin weary world. The second weekend, we handed out food to the homeless, and books with water to people currying about the subway. The second batch was accompanied with much singing as the Philippino church joined us also.
A couple weeks later, Joanna Kim visited our little church in Youngdo and created quite a stir for the health message. The members desired her health book and have considered joining up with her online classes. I’m not certain how many have signed up yet. In the next couple of weekends, my Wildwood colleague Joshua Subash, also a LIGHT affiliate from India, will come and make his mark in our church also. I hope the effects of the health message will take hold and be a permanent fixture in that church. For those of you who have a burden for the Health Message to take root in Korea, this church is one place I believe it is going to happen, by God’s grace.
These days, our little church in Youngdo, Busan, has been preparing to do a more thorough job in health and spreading the gospel around the community. Apparently, they’ve decided to set me up as a central feature to make that happen. Well, if you’re going to catch fish, I guess you need a worm, and I guess that’s me. Well, in any case, I’m glad to be used by God. Praise the Lord!
To God be the glory!
